THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS CHRIST

We believe that God, because of His infinite love for the world, gave His only begotten Son as the Savior of sinners and through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross offers His salvation to all people. God, wanting all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, sent His Son into the world to preach the Gospel of Grace (that is, that through Him the remission of sins and eternal life is freely granted to all who believe, calling them at the same time to then abandon sin and follow His teaching).

From the beginning of human existence, God gives us hope in regards to the evil in the world.

«“Then the Lord said to the snake: ‘Because of what you did, cursed be you alone of all the animals of the earth! You will crawl on your belly, and you will eat dirt all of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will crush your head, and you will bruise His heel.“ (Genesis 3:14-15)

To atone for the sins of His people, God required sacrifices. So all the people had to arrange for a vicarious sacrifice of an innocent animal to be made on their behalf, for the sins that they committed.

“And God said to Aaron, ‘Come near to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering and make the rite of atonement for yourself and for the people; also offer the sacrifice of the people and make the rite of atonement for them, as the Lord commanded’” (Leviticus 9:7).

Hebrews 10:10, 11, and 12:
“Because of this ‘will’ we have been purified once and for all by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ.
11All priests work daily and offer many times the sacrifices, but they can never take away sins. 12Instead Jesus offered for sins a sacrifice forever, and then sat at the right hand of God;” a sacrifice forever, and then sat at the right hand of God;

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ has the power to regenerate the human soul and restore it from eternal destruction to eternal paradise.

The sacrifice today, however, that God asks of awakened and responsive Christians is the one spoken of in Psalm 51: “Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; a broken spirit and a humbled heart God will not despise!”,heart humbled and subdued, God does not despise her.
